Our Story
A family garden center in the Upper Cumberland, run by the people who grew everything on the benches.
Elisa grew up one of ten kids on seven acres here in the Upper Cumberland. Her family milked their own cows, raised sheep and beef cattle, and grew plants in about six different spots around the place — wherever there was room and light. Summers she worked at a garden center. By the time this place came along, she'd already spent most of her life doing exactly this kind of work.
Livingston Garden Center has been here since 2013. Elisa bought it in 2019, and the early years were long days — hauling trees one-handed with a baby stroller in the other, four little ones never far from the benches. She'll tell you straight that she didn't do it alone. God gets the glory, Cassidy and the crew keep the place running, and both families still show up whenever there's work to do. That's who you'll find at the counter.
These days the place is half garden center, half farm supply. The greenhouse side we grow ourselves — annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, vegetable starts — and the yard carries trees, shrubs and fruit trees through the season. The farm-supply side keeps the feed room stocked for everything from chicks to cattle.
But the thing people seem to value most here isn't on a shelf. It's being able to walk in and ask how to plant a tree so it lives, what's chewing holes in your tomatoes, which amendment your bed actually needs, or what we'd put in the ground this time of year in zone 7a. Answering those questions is our favorite part of the job. Start with our Plant Help guides, then come see us — we'd rather talk it through at the counter anyway.
What we stand behind
Grown here, never trucked in

We mix our own with Gentry Farm soil and compost from Sparta, Tennessee.
